Choosing a Photo Booth Rental Company

Are you planning to rent a photo booth for an upcoming event? Whether it’s a wedding, a corporate party or any other big occasion, a photo booth will surely add an unforgettable dimension to your memories. If you ask those who have rented or used one, expect them to rave about the experience.

What’s great about photo booth rentals is there are many providers to consider. So how do you know which one’s the best?

Photo Quality

Truth is, there are many photo booth rentals out there that don’t produce true photo quality prints. That’s why before committing to a certain provider online, always ask them to mail you samples. Consider two or three prospects for comparison and you will be amazed at the difference.

Image Size

Make sure you ask how big the file sizes will be. You’ll never know when your next one-in-a-million shot comes along. Be sure you can enlarge the print it when it does.

Booth Size

When it comes to photo booths, larger is definitely better. A bigger both equals more people accommodated and more possibilities too.

Crop

Yes, photo crop makes a difference. Most rentals use a horizontal crop, which is only good for up to three people. Choose a booth that uses a vertical crop so you can have enough room to strike a good pose, or simply more room for more people in every picture.

Backup Equipment

This is probably an important event or you wouldn’t care renting a photo booth. Make sure you choose a provider that will actually be available from start to finish. In other words, they should have backup equipment whenever necessary. It’s unbelievable many of these “providers” operate off a cellphone and have no more than one booth at their disposal. What if that one and only booth breaks down on the night prior to your event? You really need to do some homework before choosing a provider. Online reviews can be so useful.

File Keeping

Another thing you’d like to know about a photo booth provider is their file storage procedure. For example, will they keep the files after they’ve given you your DVD, and for how long? Do they save files on a crash-prone hard drive?

Contract

Finally, for mutual protection, make sure you sign a contract with the provider you choose. And pay attention to the conditions related to running time. Some companies only guarantee operation for up to 70% of the agreed running time. The thing is they won’t charge you 70% of the bill but all of it. This may seem really crazy but make sure you are clear on this before you sign their contract. There’s no excuse for them not to give you your full money’s worth. As a client, you have every right to demand it.
